About this ranking
Share of enterprises with 10 or more persons employed whose e-commerce sales (orders received through websites, apps, online marketplaces or EDI-type messages) were at least 1% of their turnover in the previous calendar year. Covers all activities except agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining and quarrying and the financial sector. Eurostat survey on ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises.
The reported year is the survey year; sales refer to the preceding calendar year. The EU Digital Economy and Society Index reports the same measure for small and medium-sized enterprises (10 to 249 persons employed); this series covers every enterprise with 10 or more. It counts enterprises, not sales: ecommerce_turnover_share is the share of turnover from e-commerce.
Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the EU countries are compared on one definition. Equal values share a rank.
