Resident population. Spain and the EU: 1 January, with Spanish figures from the official municipal register (Padrón). United States: Census Bureau population estimates for 1 July. - population_16_64: Population aged 16 to 64. Resident population aged 16 to 64 on 1 January (INE annual census). Used as the working-age denominator. - population_density: Population density. Resident population divided by land area in km². - foreign_population_share: Foreign nationals share of population. Residents with foreign nationality as a percentage of total population on 1 January. - population_65_plus_share: Population aged 65 and over. Residents aged 65 or over as a percentage of total population on 1 January. - median_age: Median age. Age that divides the resident population into two halves of equal size. Spain and the EU: on 1 January. United States: American Community Survey five-year estimate, where the period shown is the last year of the five-year span. - average_age: Average age. Mean age of the resident population on 1 January. - dependency_ratio: Dependency ratio. Population under 16 plus population 65 and over, divided by population aged 16 to 64, times 100. - births_july_june: Live births, July to June. Estimated live births to resident mothers from July 1 of the previous year through June 30 of the reported year. - deaths_july_june: Deaths, July to June. Estimated deaths of residents from July 1 of the previous year through June 30 of the reported year. - crude_birth_rate_july_june: Crude birth rate, July to June. Estimated live births from July 1 of the previous year through June 30 of the reported year per 1,000 residents, using the average of the population estimates at the two July 1 endpoints. - crude_death_rate_july_june: Crude death rate, July to June. Estimated deaths from July 1 of the previous year through June 30 of the reported year per 1,000 residents, using the average of the population estimates at the two July 1 endpoints. - births: Live births. Live births to mothers resident in the area during the year. - deaths: Deaths. Deaths of residents in the area during the year. - crude_birth_rate: Crude birth rate. Average number of children a woman would have over her lifetime at current age-specific fertility rates. - life_expectancy: Life expectancy at birth.
