About this ranking

Employed people aged 18 or over whose equivalised disposable income is below 60% of the national median after social transfers, as a percentage of all employed people aged 18 or over. People count as employed when they worked for more than half of the income reference year.

Poverty is measured on household income, so a worker can be counted as at risk of poverty because of the size or income of the household. From the EU statistics on income and living conditions (EU-SILC). Income refers to the previous calendar year in most countries. Eurostat flags series breaks; they are stored as status break.

Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the EU countries are compared on one definition. Equal values share a rank.
