About this ranking

Median of the standard of living, in euros per year at current prices: household disposable income (after taxes and social benefits) divided by the number of consumption units (1 for the first adult, 0.5 for each other person aged 14 or over, 0.3 for each child under 14). INSEE, Filosofi, from tax and social benefit records; people in tax households with zero or positive disposable income.

France only: the 96 metropolitan départements and La Réunion, from the 2023 edition. Half the people in the département have a higher standard of living and half a lower one. It is a register figure for the département and is not comparable with the survey-based EU income statistics.

Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the areas are compared on one definition. Equal values share a rank.
