About this ranking
Goods whose economic ownership passes from non-residents to residents, and services non-residents provide to residents, as a percentage of GDP. World Bank national accounts data, compiled from national statistical offices and central banks and from OECD national accounts files.
Can pass 100% in re-export hubs, because imports are gross while GDP is value added. National accounts basis, so it differs from customs trade totals. For the amount in dollars see imports_goods_services_usd.
Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the countries are compared on one definition. 18 countries with data in other periods have no value for 2023 and are left out rather than filled from another source. Equal values share a rank.
