About this ranking

Share of enterprises with 10 or more persons employed that used at least one artificial intelligence technology during the survey year: text mining, speech recognition, natural language generation, image recognition, machine learning, AI-based workflow automation or autonomous machines. Covers all sectors except agriculture, mining and quarrying, and finance.

Eurostat survey on ICT usage in enterprises. The series starts in 2023: the 2021 survey asked about a different list of AI technologies and is not comparable. Firms with fewer than 10 persons employed are not covered. Regional figures exist for some countries only.

Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the EU countries are compared on one definition. Equal values share a rank.
