Definition
Harmonised index of consumer prices for insurance and financial services (COICOP 2018 division 12, new in COICOP 2018: in the earlier ECOICOP these services were part of miscellaneous goods and services), annual rate of change: the percentage change from the same month a year earlier. Monthly, comparable across EU countries (Eurostat).
Eurostat publishes the HICP under COICOP 2018 from the data for January 2026 and recalculated the category series back to 1997 on that basis, so figures for earlier years can differ from those first published under ECOICOP, by a lot for divisions 08 to 13. The headline rate for all items is hicp_annual_rate. Eurostat marks some back-calculated months as estimates.
