Exchange rate per US dollar
Units of the currency issued by the place that buy 1 US dollar: the monthly average of the daily noon buying rates in New York certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (Federal Reserve G.5 and H.10). Japan carries yen per dollar, the euro area euros per dollar.
A higher value means a weaker currency against the dollar. The Federal Reserve quotes the euro, the pound sterling and the Australian and New Zealand dollars the other way round, in US dollars per unit (1.1505 dollars per euro in September 2026); for those four the value here is the reciprocal of the published monthly average (0.869187 euros per dollar), stored with the published figure as its input. The reciprocal of an average can differ slightly from an average of daily reciprocals. Rates belong to the country that issues the currency; currencies shared by several countries are not included.
