About this ranking
People killed in road traffic accidents during the year, counting deaths within 30 days of the accident and excluding confirmed suicides and natural deaths. From police records reported to the EU road accident database (CARE).
Police counts. The WHO road traffic death rate is a modelled estimate per 100,000 people and differs from these figures.
Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the regions are compared on one definition. Equal values share a rank.
