About this ranking

Turnover of retail trade at constant prices, general index, 2021 = 100 (INE retail trade indices, ICM, original series). Retail trade is CNAE 2009 division 47 (retail sale except of motor vehicles and motorcycles), service stations included.

Spain only: the country from January 2000 and the 17 comunidades autónomas, Ceuta and Melilla from January 2005. Not adjusted for seasonal or calendar effects, so December is the highest month every year and February usually the lowest; compare a month with the same month a year earlier. For EU countries use retail_sales_volume_index_total (Eurostat), which is seasonally adjusted.

Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the autonomous communities are compared on one definition. Equal values share a rank.
