About this ranking
GDP divided by the mid-year population, converted to current international dollars with purchasing power parity (PPP) rates. One international dollar buys in a country what a US dollar buys in the United States. World Bank series built on the International Comparison Program (ICP).
Adjusts for price levels, unlike gdp_per_capita_usd, which uses market exchange rates. Not the same as gdp_per_capita_pps, the Eurostat index with EU27 = 100. The whole series is rebased when a new ICP round is published, so past values can change a lot.
Every value in the ranking comes from the same publisher and the same period, so the countries are compared on one definition. 4 countries with data in other periods have no value for 2022 and are left out rather than filled from another source. Equal values share a rank.
