Retail trade sales in Canada, seasonally adjusted
Monthly sales of retail trade, all industries (NAICS 44-45) in millions of Canadian dollars at current prices, seasonally adjusted, for Canada, the provinces and the territories.
More on how it is measured
- Sales by retail establishments classified to the industry by their main activity (NAICS 2022), whatever the product, in thousands of dollars as published, converted to millions.
- Sales include online sales by store and non-store retailers located in Canada.
- Sales taxes are excluded.
Statistics Canada Monthly Retail Trade Survey, from January 2017 (the table on the NAICS 2022 basis). Not consumer spending, which counts services and purchases from other industries. In Canadian dollars at current prices, so it is not comparable with retail_sales_usd_total (United States) without a currency conversion. Ids without the _nsa suffix are seasonally adjusted; Statistics Canada adjusts the industries for Canada only, so provinces have adjusted totals and unadjusted industries.
