Natural gas marketed production
Natural gas withdrawn from gas and oil wells in the year, less gas used for repressuring, quantities vented and flared, and nonhydrocarbon gases removed, in million cubic feet, as published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Marketed gas still contains the natural gas liquids removed later at processing plants, so it is larger than dry gas production (natural_gas_production, the measure used to compare countries). Production in federal offshore waters (most of it in the federal offshore Gulf, which EIA now labels Gulf of America) is counted in the United States total and in no state, so the states add up to less than the nation. State series start in 1967 and the national series in 1900. EIA revises the latest years as final survey data arrive.
