Industrial energy expenditure
Spending on energy bought by manufacturing, agriculture, mining and construction, including fuels used as raw materials, in millions of current US dollars. U.S. Energy Information Administration, State Energy Data System (series TEICV).
Fuel that industrial plants burn to generate electricity for the grid is in the electric power sector and is not counted here. Millions of current US dollars, not adjusted for inflation. An EIA State Energy Data System estimate: consumption of each fuel times its estimated price. Hydro, wind and solar power have no fuel cost and count only through the electricity they produce. The latest year is about 18 months old, and EIA revises earlier years with each release.
