Housing completions, seasonally adjusted annual rate (US)

New privately owned housing units completed in the month, expressed as a seasonally adjusted annual rate: the number of completions the year would have if every month were like this one after removing the usual seasonal pattern. From the New Residential Construction release of the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. United States total.

The seasonally adjusted monthly pace multiplied by 12, stored in housing units. This is an annual rate, not a forecast or a calendar-year total. HUD-code manufactured homes are excluded. The latest month is preliminary; the two preceding months can be revised in monthly releases. Seasonal factors for the preceding 63 months are revised with the April data release. September and November 2025 estimates were published in delayed, bundled releases, and are included in this series.
