Household mortgage debt service ratio
Statistics Canada's ratio of obligated principal and interest payments on Household sector mortgage debt to household disposable income before interest payments. The series is seasonally adjusted at annual rates and expressed as a percentage.
Statistics Canada's Household sector includes unincorporated enterprises operated by households and excludes NPISH. Obligated principal is estimated as the minimum required payment under repayment-schedule assumptions. Both payment and income flows are annualized, so their ratio is served as published, without multiplying by four. This is an aggregate sector ratio, not an average payment per household.
