Statistics Canada's quarterly interest expense on Household sector total loans divided by the outstanding interest-bearing loan balance, expressed as a percentage. This published series is unadjusted at quarterly rates.

The Household sector includes unincorporated enterprises operated by households and excludes NPISH. The measure reflects interest paid on new and existing borrowing; it is not an annualized loan quote or an APR.
