Greenhouse gas emissions of the industries and households resident in the area during the calendar year, in million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, measured by the production approach of the environmental-economic accounts. Indirect emissions, such as those from electricity bought from another region, are not counted. Stats NZ regional estimates for the regional council areas of New Zealand.
A residence basis: emissions of a region's businesses and households, including their activity elsewhere, so it is not the territorial inventory in ghg_emissions_total and the regions do not add up to the national inventory. Stats NZ revises the whole series with each release.
