GDP per head, pounds sterling
Regional GDP at current market prices divided by the resident population (ONS mid-year estimates), in pounds sterling per person. United Kingdom ITL1 regions and local authorities.
Current prices in pounds, not adjusted for inflation or for differences in living costs. Output is counted where the work is done and people are counted where they live, so commuting distorts the figure: the ONS warns that per head estimates may be distorted by people commuting between regions, and the City of London, with few residents, has a very high value. Not the same as gdp_per_capita (euros) or gdp_per_capita_usd (US dollars, World Bank). The latest year is provisional.
