One of the five high-level groups of the census question, which add up to 100. It covers people of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Chinese and other Asian background. The UK classification differs from US race and Hispanic origin categories, so it is not comparable with asian_share, black_share or white_non_hispanic_share. Scotland and Northern Ireland ran their own censuses with other categories and are not included.
