Crude oil production
Crude oil, including lease condensate, produced from wells in the year (field production), in thousand barrels of 42 US gallons, as published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
An annual volume for the United States and its states. Production in federal offshore waters (most of it in the federal offshore Gulf, which EIA now labels Gulf of America) is counted in the United States total and in no state, so the states add up to less than the nation. State series start in 1981 and the national series in 1859. For daily rates that compare countries see crude_oil_production_bpd. EIA revises the latest years as final survey data arrive.
