Crude oil first purchase price
Average price of US crude oil the first time it is bought after it leaves the lease where it was produced, in US dollars per barrel, from U.S. Energy Information Administration surveys of crude oil purchasers.
A survey price, not an exchange benchmark: it is neither the WTI nor the Brent spot or futures price, which Invokely does not serve because EIA republishes them under third party copyright. Monthly for the United States from 1974; annual for the United States from 1859 and for producing states from 1978. Alaska is published only for the North Slope and other areas, so it has no state value. Nominal dollars, not adjusted for inflation. EIA revises recent months.
