- Definition: Median monthly rent per square metre of floor area of rented flats, in euros: half of the flats rent for more per square metre and half for less. Rents of dwellings let as a main residence that landlords declare in their personal income tax returns, matched with the floor area in the Cadastre; lets to relatives are excluded. Flats are dwellings in buildings with several homes (vivienda colectiva); houses are not included. Each figure covers the contracts in force during the year, old and new, so it is not the asking price of new listings and is usually below the prices that listing portals report.
