- Indicator id: `hospital_beds_per_100k`
- Place id: `es-ccaa-05`
- Unit: per 100,000 people
- Definition: Beds in hospitals that are regularly maintained and staffed and immediately available for admitted patients, per 100,000 inhabitants. Includes curative, rehabilitative, long-term and other hospital beds in public and private hospitals (health care provider HP.1). Beds in nursing and residential care facilities are not included.
- Note: Countries count beds at the end of the year or as a yearly average, and a few leave out some private or military hospitals; Eurostat flags those values as following a different definition. More beds do not mean better care: countries that treat more patients as day cases or at home need fewer beds.
